A Taste of Real Mushing – Under the Northern Lights
Alta is home to Europe’s longest sled dog race—Finnmarksløpet—and the roots of our family’s mushing journey. Since 1986, we’ve trained, raced, and lived life with Alaskan Huskies above the Arctic Circle.
This 2.5-hour experience is a curated introduction to that world—now with the magic of the northern lights. As darkness settles over the snowy landscape, you’ll mush your own team of dogs along parts of the Finnmarksløpet trail, guided by seasoned mushers and surrounded by stillness, snow, and sky. If the aurora appears, you’ll be in one of the best places to witness it: far from light pollution, with only the sound of the sled and the breath of your huskies beneath the stars.
Small groups. Personal connection. A hands-on journey into the world of Arctic mushing—and a chance to chase the northern lights in unforgettable company.
While the northern lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings can’t be guaranteed, we always promise a memorable and exciting dog sledding adventure under the stars.
