3 Day experience November — Whales, Dogs & Northern Lights

Three days at Holmen: Northern Lights, whales and dryland mushing

November brings its own kind of magic to Holmen Husky Lodge. The Arctic winter is just beginning, temperatures are still mild, and the dark skies over Alta are some of the best in the season for spotting the Northern Lights.

Your three days combine time with our dogs on a dryland mushing tour, harnessing and running with the Alaskan Huskies before the snow settles in for the deeper winter months. From the fjord, you will also join a whale watching tour, keeping an eye out for orcas and humpback whales as they follow the herring into Altafjord.

Back at the lodge, your Forest Suite offers a comfortable base between adventures, with full board, sauna access, and evenings spent watching the sky for the aurora.

Absolutely amazing 😊

Dogsledding is by far "the activity" you should try if visiting Northern Norway, and Holmen Husky is the right provider! Enjoyed it so much, loveble huskies and very friendly and knowledgeble guides. Bravo!

Tremendous, Fantastic and superb. Exhilarating experience!

We weren't sure what to expect but we wanted to have an inroad into the husky lifestyle and experience. We chose well. Beautifully committed and passionate guides and facilitators made this experience a highlight of our full holiday experience. You get to ride the sleigh in train formation, we did a night and morning run and enjoyed both for different reasons. Do the night one first and marvel at where you were the next time.
