Day 1: Arrival and Introduction

• Morning/Afternoon: Guests are transported from the airport to Holmen Husky Lodge, welcomed upon arrival
• Check-In: Settle into the enchanting Forest Suite, crafted for a unique and comfortable stay
• Evening: A delightful dinner awaits at the lodge, offering a taste of exquisite local dishes

‍DAY 2: Embarking on the Adventure

• Breakfast: A hearty breakfast to start the day, energising guests for the adventure ahead
• Morning Briefing: A thorough briefing on the itinerary, safety, and sled handling, preparing guests for the journey
• Equipment and Dogs Introduction: Learn about the dogs, sled handling, and receive all necessary gear
• Sled to Beskades: Journey to the mountain's foot and sled across Beskades plateau for about 3 hours
• Lunch in Camp: Relish lunch amidst the scenic views
• Dog Care: Participate in feeding and caretaking of the dogs, strengthening the bond with your sled team
• Check-In at Suolovopmi: Arrival and check-in at Suolovopmi Mountain Lodge
• Dinner: Enjoy a fulfilling dinner, discussing the day's experiences‍

DAY 3: Immersive Wilderness Experience

• Breakfast: Begin with breakfast at the lodge
• Prep Dogs for the day trip: Engage in preparing and feeding the dogs before setting off
• Dog Sled tour towards Kautokeino: A 4-5 hour trip, diving deep into the Arctic's beauty.
• Lunch will be enjoyed during a stop on the trail

• Dog Care: Conclude the day by feeding and taking care of the dogs, ensuring they are well-rested for the next day
• Sauna: Unwind in the sauna after the day's journey
• Dinner: Gather for dinner, sharing tales of the wilderness

‍Day 4: Return and Relaxation

• Breakfast: A nourishing breakfast before embarking on the day's return journey
• Prep and Feed Dogs: Morning preparation and feeding the dogs for their journey back over the plateau
• Sled Back: Sled back to Holmen, completing the Arctic circle over about 3 hours
• Transport to Holmen: Return to the lodge for relaxation and reflection
• Check-In: Forest Suite
• Sauna/Jacuzzi: Soothe the day's exertion in the sauna or Jacuzzi
• Dinner: The final celebratory dinner of the trip, reminiscing about the adventures‍

Day 5: Farewell

• Breakfast: Enjoy the last meal at the lodge, cherishing the memories created.
• Final Dog Goodbyes: A moment to say goodbye to the dogs, appreciating their companionship and resilience
• Transport from Holmen: Guests depart from the lodge to the airport or their next destination, marking the end of an unforgettable Arctic adventure with Holmen Husky Lodge

The most important things to bring with you are:

• Basic layer of wool underwear (100% wool is the best)
• Pair of thick 100% wool socks (can also be bought here)
• Face covering, neck warmer
• Wool sweater, or a good fleece
• Winter jacket and outdoor pants (no jeans)
• Bathing suit (use of the sauna / outdoor jacuzzi)
• Small backpack, for lunch and a camera
• Thin winter gloves
• Thermo water bottle
• Basic First aid kit 

We will provide you with a proper winter suit, mittens, hat, boots, goggles and if necessary also a headlamp. Our guides will take care of all necessary safety equipment. The safety briefing is part of the instruction session on the second day.

• The minimum age to participate in this experience is 16 years old.

Alaskan huskies are polar animals and weather conditions, specifically warm temperatures, create situations unsafe for them to run in. Holmen Husky, therefore, reserves the right to cancel trips if the temperatures become unsuitable for our dogs. The weather can be extreme at times in this part of the world and we reserve the right to change an itinerary or cancel a trip if the conditions appear to be unsafe.
